Travel in Australia
"We'd Luv to see ya! We have loads of interesting things to do"
Make Australia a Holiday Destination

It is quite easy to get around this large country. It is just on 4000 kilometres from east to west and nearly the same from DARWIN in the Northern Territory to HOBART on the south Island of Tasmania. You can fly to most of Australia in a few hours or take a leisurely train ride from PERTH to SYDNEY or from ADELAIDE to CAIRNS.
Once you ARRIVE IN AUSTRALIA you have a number of choices to let you get around and see the country. You can simply go with a GUIDED TOUR and take it easy.
BUS/COACH TOURS and RAIL TOURS are the most popular extended tours and you will find you can often be very flexible with some tour companies.
Coach or Bus Tours
Bus and Coach tour travelling allows you to stop, see, smell and touch and to spend a little time inspecting and taking photos of what you see.
Buses and Coaches in Australia are fitted out with all the latest passenger comforts, just right for you're tour, like big comfortable chairs, air conditioning, space to move about and to place your things around you. Your Bus or Coach chauffeur drivers are very knowledgeable and can provide commentaries and take you to the major attractions and relate the histories of the areas you visit. Many bus or coach drivers make this their way of life, carrying a great deal of new passengers, and many times people who come back for a second and third time.
Rail Tours
You can travel from the north to the south on the great Australian outback train THE GHAN and from the Pacific Coast in Sydney in the east to the Indian Ocean and Perth on the West Coast on THE INDIAN PACIFIC.
Or you may decide on your own daily itinerary and go by public transport, either by plane, rail or coach. Another great option is to be chauffeur driven to some of the local sightseeing destinations by a local who knows all about the area. You very own personalised tour! Many wedding car companies will arrange mid-week excursions and there are also services that will drive you around, a great option if you want to enjoy a few drinks on a wine tour for example.
You may need to book ahead on some of these services and in fact if you DO know where you want to go and when you can save quite a lot of money by booking a few weeks ahead. On our TRAVELLING WITHIN AUSTRALIA pages you will find links to rail and bus companies to help you plan ahead.
Wherever you go in Australia you will find some wonderful scenery and plenty to do. Make an itinery of the SPORTING EVENTS, FESTIVALS and other major events that are always happening around the country!
AND DO NOT FORGET THE CAMERA AND DIARY!
