Being close to both the Gold and Sunshine Coasts also means a stay in Brisbane offers the entertainment opportunities of Coast beaches and nightlife.
While Rugby League is the major football code played in the state Australian Rules and soccer are both becoming more popular and cricket has always been a mainstay of Queensland sport. And of course there are opportunities in all varieties of water sports.
