Cycads, Palms and Conifers

Australian Cycads
The 69 native Cycad species in Australia are found mostly in the tropical and sub-tropical rainforest regions of the east coast and in the south-western parts of Western Australia where there is a medium-to-high rainfall climate.
The Petford Blue Sago (Cycas platypylla) species nevertheless occurs in the dryer climates of Australia, having a protective 'blue wax' on young leaves.
Although they are very slow to grow they are a popular garden plant.
