What's On - The Sunshine Coast
The Sunshine Coast has many events that draw people from all over the world, and there is well and truly enough to keep the locals and their visitors occupied and entertained.
With a great variety of festivals and street markets to sporting events there is always something happening on the Sunshine Coast.
There are a number of music festivals. Coolum Beach has a Kite Festival right on the beach, where you will see the sky light up with colour and different shaped flying kites.
People of all ages join in and it is a lot of fun. There are also street entertainers and cultural festivals including poetry and a festival of the Written Arts.
The Sunshine Coast has a number of theme parks, including the world famoud Australia Zoo, and others based on local produce like the Ginger Factory and the Honey Bee.
There are a number of galleries and specialty shops and if you take the drive along the Mapleton Range to Montville you will not only see some great scenery but will spend a little money on something you fal
in love with. And then again you can take one of the dozens of tours.
There are some great markets like the world renowned Eumundi Markets and the shopping is terrific at Maroochydore, Noosa and Caloundra Shopping Centres.
And Sunshine Coasters love their sport. They have produced world champion tennis players, surfers and iron men, there are very competitive Rugby League, Rugby Union, Aussie Rules AND Soccer Leagues based on the Coast
so no matter what version you like Footy is BIG! Of course water sports are very popular with some great surfing beaches and the Surf Life Saving competition is a very serious occupation based sport in any
part on the the Australian Coastline and the Sunshine Caost is no exception.
