Cairns Beaches
CAIRNS BEACHES STRETCH FOR 26km ALONG THE CORAL COAST.
One needs to take care as the tropical coast can be dangerous in the waters for particular parts of the year due the
marine stingers.
The beaches start just north of the city at Machans Beach then followed by Holloways Beach, Yorkeys Knob, Trinity Beach, Kewarra Beach,
Clifton Beach, Palm Cove and Ellis Beach.
The beaches attract many tourists every year and holiday accommodation is a plenty and caters to all budgets.
Visitors staying and enjoying what Cairns has to offer will find there are facilities to cater for every want and need. Smithfield has a
very large shopping centre which is close to all the beaches.
Interestingly the Skyrail rainforest cableway and the Tjapukai Aboriginal Cultural Park are close by and there are a number of
restaurants.
There is a good bus service taking people to just about all the beaches. They operate on the half and hour.
