Australian Capital Territory Locality Guide
The Australian Capital Territory only came to be because of a disagreement. Sydney and Melbourne, both famous and both well established, wanted
to be the new nation's capital. A compromise was reached and a piece of territory halfway between the two would was set and named The Australian Capital Territory and
it's city was named Canberra.
Canberra - The Capital City of The ACT
The capital city of Australia is Canberra, the Aboriginal word for "meeting place".
There is a lot to see and enjoy in Canberra from the new Parliament house, the Australian War memorial, Old Parliament House, the National Library of Australia,
The National Science & Technology Centre, National Museum of Australia and the Australian National Botanic Gardens are just some of the places. As a point of interest
