Australian Capital Territory Locality Guide
The Australian Capital Territory only came to be because of a disagreement. Sydney and Melbourne, both famous and both well established, wanted
to be the new nation's capital. A compromise was reached and a piece of territory halfway between the two was allocated and named The Australian Capital Territory and
it's city was named Canberra.

Canberra is set out on a made-made lake but the site is right at the foothills of the Snowy Mountains and with its own diversity and natural beauty. There are a number
of small towns outside the suburbs of Canberra and the Namadgi National Park which is mostly ranges and forest. There are a number of great cycling tracks around Canberra and environs
and a number of waterways apart from Lake Burley Griffin which is Canberra's centerpiece. The Murrumbidgee River form the southern border right through to its northern border on its way
down the valleys to Gundagai before turning west on its wa back southwards towards the Murray at Boundary Bend.
