Well we do! We also like watching others do so too

While the Opera and other Art events are mostly held in the larger cities, country people still enjoy watching live shows and plays, with many smaller country towns having a local acting school and association that puts on plays in the local Town Hall now and again. These are not only well attended but enjoyed and appreaciated even if the actors are not Mel Gibson or Nicole Kidman.

The last few years Melbourne has become the major 'opening night' city in the world, with many new shows testing their efforts in front of Melbourne audiences before they thrust them upon New York and London.
